What is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease?

Stands for "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease" ; COPD is an unfortunate disease since it is one of the main cause of death all around the world which can also be described with chronic bronchitis, emphysema or a combination of these diseases. As a big burden on society in both health and economic terms; COPD is "a chronic respiratory disease mainly caused by a strong history of exposure to smoke and exposure to fumes or extremely dusty locations. It is characterized by progressive, partially reversible airway obstruction or airflow limitation along with breathing discomfort; i.e shortness of breath, systemic expressions, and increasing frequency and severity of exacerbations that badly affects health related quality of life".
